Wood Fence Styles

Horizontal Shadow Box Fence: The Austin Fence Company installs our Horizontal Fences on 4 x4 posts set 24 inches below grade in wet mix concrete. We use Western Red  horizontal cedar picket fence boards in this custom wood fence placed horizontally spaced 2 inches apart and to the desired height. We then repeat the process with horizontal fence pickets on the back side. This fence should not considerd if privacy is your goal. Although this horizontal fence may be nice to look at it does not provide full privacy. The Austin Fence Company unlike other Austin fence companies protects all of our horizontal fences with a Behr weatherproofer, watersealer, and a natural cedar stain or a Thompsons product. This style of wood fence installation in Austin TX is very popular.

 

 

Cap and Trim Cedar Privacy Fence: The Austin Fence Company installs our Cap and Trim cedar picket Fences with Western Red Cedar Pickets. Our Cap and Trim Cedar Picket Fences are installed in a similar fashion as our privacy fences. Other fence installers in Austin TX build this custom wood fence with a 5/8" thick horizontal fence trim board as we use a true 3/4" thick horizontal fence trim board made out of Western Red Cedar that attaches to the top of the cedar picket and the top 2x4. Western Red Cedar Privacy Fencing: The Austin Fence Company installs several heigths of Cedar Privacy Fence.The most common heigth cedar privacy fence our wood fence installers around Austin is six foot. We also offer a true 3/4" thick Western Red Cedar Picket as well as a 5/8" thick picket on our privacy fences. Western Red Cedar Privacy Fences can be installed on either 4x4 wood posts or 2 3/8" steel poles.There are several advantages to using Western Red Cedar Pickets over Treated Pine Pickets. Western Red Cedar Pickets Fences Have Less of a tendency to bow or warp than Treated Pine pickets fences. One of the down sides of using Western Red Cedar Pickets fences is they age quickly and turn silver-gray if left unprotected. The bull panel fence wire is then attached to a 2"x 2" square cedar frame and sandwiched between another 2"x 2" square cedar frame. This style of wood fence is a popular choice for homeowners who live next to a green belt. This style of fence is a favorite style for our wood fence builders in Austin to build. This is not the only way a bull panel fence can be installed. The least expensive way fence companies in Austin build this style of fence is with a 2x4 frame and a 2x4 cap. Our vertical top, middle, and bottom rails vary in size from 1"x 1" to 1 1/2"x 1 1/2" on our iron fences. The horizontal pickets on our iron fences vary in size from 5/8"x 5/8" to 3/4"x 3/4". I live off of Manchaca in S. Austin and I found a flier on my door a few weeks back. I had fences, but they were old hurricane-fences and I was sick of staring at them. I called the number on the flier and they were out there within two hours to do a free evaluation. The guy who came out was polite and professional and I ended picking iron and wood fencing. They started work 4 days after I contracted them and the work was done quickly and well.
I'm really pleased with how much better these look than what I had and would encourage anybody else to go with these guys. I had a great experience, and got a great product.

Review: The Austin Fence Company did a great job, and beat everybody else's quotes. Joe came out to do the estimate for us. We had quite a bit of fence for them to do. We added fence around our swimming pool as well as a privacy fence. It was about 300 feet of fence total.

They did a great job and were very fast, it took them about two and a half days for them to complete the entire job. They were good about cleaning up too and there was no chunks of concrete lying around after they were done. I hardly saw the guys, they worked so fast!

About an hour before they were done, they gave me a call to let me know so I could come have a walk around with them. They wanted to make sure I was completely satisfied. I was very happy, they didn't have to change anything. I shouldn't have to use them anytime soon, but I would definitely use them again if I ever win the lottery and move to another house and need fencing!

When Joey was here to give the quote, he went through all of my options, and explained every aspect of the job in detail. Once I committed, they started a few days later, and were done with the work very quickly. The overall experience was very easy for me--they took care of everything.

Really great experience! Joey was very professional and informative. They did everything they said they would do on time and with a great result. They tore the old one down in one day and put up the new one the next day. They cleaned up some and came back the next day to finish up. I needed a new fence, as the original one was falling apart. I called a few contractors for competitive bids, among them was Joey of the Austin Fence Company. I wasn't sure what I wanted, and Joey came prepared with some sample pictures and an outstanding knowledge of his trade. Once I decided on how I wanted it to look, he measured the area and gave me a quote within a few minutes. His price was very reasonable, and the work thereafter was outstanding. The cedar wood was high quality, and the workmanship was just great. They were on time and professional. I highly recommend them.

I also recommend Joey and his crew. They answered all of my questions and worked until 9p one night to fix our fence because my dog and our bunny had been getting out. They knew I had some concern about fixing it quickly because of escaping animals. They were also out the next morning finishing up on time, and our quote was exactly the same price and they even threw in a new handle/hardware for the gate.

 

 

 

 

I had Joey and his guys come out and replace our 50 year old fence. These guys were great. Joey (the owner) was extremely professional and timely. His quote was exactly what we were looking for and, better yet, the final price was exactly the same as his quote. I've got a pretty hectic work schedule and he was able to not only get the job done without my full oversight but have it done a full day sooner than we thought! He had me come out and check over the final product before they packed up and left; therefore, eliminating a possible callback problem.

We are extremely happy with the fence but more importantly with the entire process and way these guys do business.
